About “FUKKOU MIYAGI ~Restoration of Miyagi~”

MORI-NO-DENGONBAN YURURU (a.k.a Yururu) is NPO for supporting NPO in Miyagi pref.

Some of the facilities were washed away or destroyed by the earthquake disaster and some of NPOs lost their staff and users. In addition, some NPOs lost users even though there were no problems at their facilities.
We have concerns that NPOs in stricken area’s are facing financial difficulties.
In April, we cooperated with other association’s in the same field and conducted a survey into activity situation against 113 NPOs who support elderly people and disabled people.
As the results of answers from 51 NPOs, 32 NPOs show that they have damage to their facilities and they have to repair, reconstruct or even move.
13 NPOs need over a million yen for repair. Furthermore, 42 NPOs suffered from losing many users and 9 NPOs had severe cut in income of more than 50%.
We visited NPO in the stricken area and confirmed their idea of business development in the future.
Most of NPOs want to restart their operation including NPOs who were forced to close down because of the earthquake.
However, besides their debts for their damaged facilities, they are experiencing funding difficulties for new construction or additional repair.
On the other hand, since it has been taking so long that the local government has not decided a policy if it is possible to build facilities in the stricken area, those NPOs have not been able to get started anything yet.
The situation is that they can not restart the operation under such circumstances although the payment is required every month.
Therefore, we have decided to set up this donation-site called “FUKKOU MIYAGI ~~Restoration of Miyagi~” to help those NPOs of the stricken area.
You will see information of those NPOs about their operations, damage level, how much money they need on this web-site.
You are free to choose NPOs you are interested and would like to support.
We believe that disclosure of information and activity reports are most important things for NPOs.
We will keep supporting those NPOs until they stand by themselves.
